Where in the World is Congressman Silver?

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Wow, Congressman Silvestre Reyes hasn’t posted anything on his blog since April 16, 2008. He doesn’t appear to have done anything in Congress since then, either. We nearly get a tear in our eye when we remember the big news about him joining some Intelligence Committee or other. Of course, we thought it was a school for increasing intelligence.

Two theories:
1) He was overconfident enough after the Obama election that he felt he didn’t need to communicate any more with his constituency.
2) He’s a lily-livered coward in hiding after the heat Democrats and Obama have been taking since Hopey-Changey didn’t go like their Left-wing supporters demanded it go.
3) His only web-savvy staffer quit.

Three theories. OK.

City Life is Bad for the Brain

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Oh, Dear. Looks like living in Blue State enclaves like San Francisco, Boston and New York can cause brain damage.

Well, that explains the support for Pelosi, Blago, Reid, Boxer, T. Kennedy (or T-Ked to hipsters), Caroline Kennedy, and that weird little guy from Ohio with the hot wife who believes in aliens from outer space.

Habitat for Humanity, or Habitats to Make Guilty White Liberals Feel Better?

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Whoops: Charity homes funded by Hollywood names and built by former Prez Jimmy Carter are crumbling.

Well, at least a lot of big names felt good about their work. At the time.

And, I didn’t know that these homes had a mortgage attached; I thought they were free.

Caroline Kennedy on 9/11; 9/11 of 2008, That Is

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Disinterested Democrat Caroline Kennedy says, at the end of 2008, that 9/11 got her interested in politics. She says she’d like to put her good relationships with the DC political crowd to work. No doubt.

It’s funny how her voting record (or lack thereof) had to be brought to her attention: “I was really surprised and dismayed by my voting record,” she said. “I’m glad it’s been brought to my attention.”

Good Lord.

Oh, Goody. Strengthening Unions Is Just What We Need Now

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

dianawashingtonvaldezblog is on the blogspot hyping a feminist angle to the new Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis, avowed strengthener of unions.

Because, you know, UAW payouts have worked so well for Detroit, in the long term. In fact, it’s surprising that our tax dollars are going to rescue automakers. What with decades-long heavy union influence, you’d think Detroit would be swimming in success.

There’s more to fisk in this post — much more — but we’ll hold off for now. Have to mop floors and cook dinner and clean the kitchen, lest the womyn of the house get angry with us.

UPDATE: Solis was for secret ballots, before she was against them. [Hat Tip: Conservative blog Stop the ACLU.]
